Edo State Governor Okpebholo Greenlights Major Transport and Road Investments

Governor Okpebholo of Edo State has approved significant investments in transport, security, and agriculture. Commissioner of Information Communication, Paul Ohombamu, announced that the Executive Council (EXCO) sanctioned the purchase of 50 new Toyota Hiace buses to complement the existing fleet of the New Edo Line transportation company.

Additionally, the council approved the procurement of five bulldozers and a lowbed truck for the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security. The approval also includes the construction and rehabilitation of key roads in oil and gas-producing areas of Edo State, such as Orhionmwon and Ovia local government areas.

This move signifies a shift from the previous practice of renting equipment for road projects.
