Gov Soludo Accuses Politicians of Sponsoring Monday Sit-at-Home Protests in South East

Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has disclosed that politicians are behind the Monday sit-at-home protests in the South East, particularly targeting the Onitsha Main Market and Nnewi.

Soludo, during a press briefing in Awka, highlighted the deliberate efforts to disrupt economic activities in the state. He criticized the move as an attempt to sabotage the economy and warned traders against observing the sit-at-home order.

Soludo questioned the sudden compliance with the order, noting that the markets operated freely during the Christmas and New Year period without security incidents. He also mentioned his visit to IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in DSS custody two years ago, where Kanu reportedly opposed the sit-at-home order.

Soludo emphasized the government's commitment to restoring full economic activities and announced plans to reconstruct the Onitsha Main Market to support traders.
