Iroegbu Accuses Soludo of Targeting Obi Over Debt Claims

Dickson Iroegbu, a political analyst, accused Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo of politically targeting Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), amid a controversy over the state's debt profile. This controversy arose after the Anambra State Government released records of debts it claimed were incurred or inherited during Obi's tenure as governor.

In response, Obi released his handover documents, disputing the government's assertions that his administration left behind outstanding loans and financial obligations. Iroegbu argued that since Obi did not hand over directly to Soludo, the records from Obi's administration should be available for scrutiny.

He characterized the dispute as a politically motivated witch-hunt and urged the state government to publish documentary evidence to substantiate its claims. Iroegbu warned that history would judge the ongoing disagreement and called for transparency in resolving the issues raised.
