Nasarawa Governor Clarifies Suspension of Mining Activities for Security and Revenue

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State clarified the suspension of mining activities during a recent Northern Governors Forum meeting in Kaduna. The decision is not a total ban but a suspension of new licenses for six months to verify legitimate miners and eliminate illegal activities.

The aim is to enhance security by addressing the presence of illegal miners linked to banditry and kidnappings, ensuring safe and controlled mining operations while boosting state revenue.
