Governor Yusuf Dismisses Kano Head of Service, Appoints New

On March 11, 2026, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State announced the immediate dismissal of Abdullahi Musa from his role as the Head of Service. This decision was communicated through a statement by the Director General of Media and Publicity, Sunusi Batur Dawakin Tofa.

The governor emphasized that this action is part of ongoing efforts to improve the efficiency and discipline of the state civil service, thereby enhancing service delivery across government institutions. In the same statement, Yusuf expressed gratitude for the contributions and dedication of the outgoing Head of Service.

Additionally, he directed that Bilkisu Shehu Maimota be appointed as the permanent secretary in the Administration and General Services Cabinet Office, serving in an acting capacity until a substantive Head of Service is appointed.
