Katsina Governor Launches Subsidized Fertilizer Program

On Tuesday, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State formally launched a fertilizer sale and distribution program for the year 2026 in Malumfashi Local Government Area. The initiative aims to strengthen agriculture, ensure food security, and improve the livelihoods of farmers across Katsina State.

Governor Radda announced that fertilizer will be sold at a heavily subsidized rate of N25,000 per bag. He emphasized that agriculture will remain a top priority for his administration, which will continue to provide timely support to farmers.

The governor noted that this program builds on last year's efforts to deliver fertilizer for the rainy season and has further strengthened the decentralized distribution system to ensure that every genuine farmer benefits directly. The distribution will take place across 6,652 polling units statewide, with the Funtua zone receiving 60 bags per polling unit and the Katsina zone receiving 50 bags per polling unit.
