Governor Soludo Threatens School Shutdown Over Monday Sit-at-Home Order

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has issued a warning to shut down schools in the state due to continued disobedience of the Monday sit-at-home order. In a press briefing in Awka, he expressed frustration over the disruption caused to education and economic activities.

Soludo emphasized that the next phase of enforcement would target both private and public schools that refuse to open on Mondays. He criticized the four-day school week system, stating that it hinders modern economic activities.

Soludo stressed the need to keep markets open for the welfare of traders, children, and the economy. The governor highlighted the importance of stabilizing security and attracting investors to the state.

He urged parents, teachers, and school owners to cooperate with the government to protect the future of children in Anambra State.
