Abia State Honors Rev. Uma Ukpai with State Burial

The Abia State government conducted a state burial service for the late evangelist Rev. Uma Ukpai, who passed away at the age of 80.

The event took place at the International Conference Centre in Umuahia, with attendance from prominent figures including Abia State Governor Alex Otti, who challenged attendees to live good lives in remembrance of Ukpai. Otti emphasized that Ukpai's legacy would endure beyond his death.

Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, represented by Deputy Akon Eyakenyi, described Ukpai as a visionary who raised a generation of good people. The sermon was delivered by Bishop Francis Wale Oke of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, who noted that Ukpai served God without seeking monetary gain.

The state burial attracted various dignitaries, including Governor Diri, former presidential candidate Peter Obi, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, and John Mbata, President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
