Governor Otti Mourns 15 Traders Killed in Road Accident

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State expressed profound sorrow over the tragic death of 15 Umuahia-based traders who were killed in a road accident while returning from a wedding ceremony in Enugu State. The accident, which occurred outside Abia State's immediate jurisdiction, limited the possibility of prompt emergency intervention from the state.

In response to the verified report of the crash, Governor Otti directed the Honour Commission on Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection to urgently reach out to the families of the deceased and survivors. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that affected families receive necessary government support during this period of grief and hardship.

Otti lamented the magnitude of the tragedy, stating that no family should bear the weight of such a loss without compassion and assistance. He also reiterated the importance of road safety compliance, urging drivers to strictly observe traffic regulations to prevent further fatal accidents across the country.
