Gridlock, flight disruptions as visually impaired protest at Lagos Airport

Visually impaired protesters at Lagos Airport demanded the reopening of the Farmcraft Centre, leading to gridlock and flight disruptions. The Lagos State government and federal government were called upon to address welfare concerns, with appeals made to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas.

The protest caused massive traffic jams, affecting vehicular movement along the airport corridor and impacting domestic and international terminal operations. Passengers were forced to trek long distances with luggage to meet their flight schedules.

Protest leader Kelechi emphasized the need for the Farmcraft school to be reopened for better government support. Another protester, Destiny, expressed the emotional impact of the school's closure, urging the government to take action.

Following the disruptions, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) issued a travel advisory for passengers to plan ahead.
