Group Calls for Impeachment of Osun Speaker Over Alleged Death Threat to Monarch

The Osun Youth Initiative Good Governance demanded the impeachment and arrest of Osun State House Assembly Speaker, Hon Olumide Wale Egbedun, over alleged death threats to a traditional ruler. The group called for immediate investigation and prosecution by the police and DSS following leaked audio of the Speaker threatening the monarch.

The controversy arose from a petition filed by Alasi Asi Oba Oyewale Olasunkanmi Isaac Akorede. The group condemned Egbedun's actions as a personal attack on democratic and cultural institutions, emphasizing the need to uphold the rule of law and protect traditional leaders.
