Group Backs Tinubu, Hamzat for 2027 Elections in Lagos

A political group has officially endorsed Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027 and Dr. Obafemi Hamzat as his successor for the governorship of Lagos State. The announcement was made by Lai Omotola during a press briefing in Lagos on Tuesday.

This decision followed extensive consultations among group members, who support Tinubu based on principles of rotational presidency, arguing that the current turn to the south allows Tinubu to complete his tenure. The group commended the current administration for improving political stability and noted the positive performance of the Nigerian stock market.

Omotola predicted a high voter turnout in the upcoming elections and warned politicians against complacency. He emphasized that the next governor would inherit significant responsibilities due to increasing pressure on state infrastructure.

The group also called for a focus on sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction, urging citizens to engage actively in the electoral process.
