Ogoni Youth Demand NNPCL Pay Contractors in 7 Days

The Ogoni Youth Development Initiative, represented by Comrade Oscar, has issued a 7-day ultimatum to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) to release funds owed to contractors involved in the development of the Federal University of Environmental Technology in Ogoni. During a press conference in Port Harcourt, Oscar emphasized that the refusal of NNPCL to heed directives from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has led to the abandonment of various projects, including the renovation of schools and the construction of essential facilities.

As a result, students are currently without access to hostels, classrooms, and laboratories. The initiative highlights that NNPCL's actions breach agreements made with the Ogoni people and disrupt the smooth operation of the Federal University of Environmental Technology.

The group insists that the neglect of these projects is unacceptable and calls for immediate action to resume oil exploration in Ogoni land, as mandated by the federal government.
