Contractors Demand N150bn or Threaten APC Convention Protest

Indigen contractors, represented by Jackson Nwosu, have threatened to stage a protest at the upcoming APC convention scheduled for March 27-28, 2026, unless the federal government pays N150 billion in outstanding debts. Nwosu stated that this amount is part of earlier commitments made by the government, which has only paid N21 billion since December 2025, leaving N1 trillion unpaid.

He emphasized that if the government does not fulfill this demand within 48 hours, the protest will proceed, disrupting the convention. The contractors have expressed frustration over repeated delays in payments and alleged that many members are suffering due to unpaid debts, with some unable to afford medical treatment.

Babatunde Seun, another member of the contractors' association, highlighted that the total outstanding debt owed to indigen contractors stands at N1.15 trillion. The contractors are urging the federal government to prioritize their payment demands.
