Group Supports Olatunji Disu as Acting IGP

A group has lauded the appointment of Olatunji Disu as the acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Ambassador Mari Abayomi Fatil, representing the association, issued a statement in Lagos on Thursday, describing Disu's appointment as a testament to his outstanding professionalism, discipline, leadership, humility, courage, and unwavering dedication to national service.

The association particularly recognized Disu's strong relationship with citizens, which earned him widespread public trust, especially during the End SARS protests. His career reflects a blend of operational excellence and strategic leadership, notably as the head of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos.

Fatil emphasized Disu's administrative competence and crisis management skills, expressing optimism that his leadership will bridge the gap between the police and citizens, fostering greater trust and collaboration. The association pledged full support for Disu throughout his tenure, which they anticipate will mark transformative reform measures within the Nigerian Police Force.
