Olatunji Disu's Portrait Unveiled Ahead of Swearing-In

The Nigeria Police Force has officially unveiled the portrait of Olatunji Disu, who is set to be sworn in as the acting Inspector General of Police on Wednesday. This development was announced by Benjamin Hundeyin, the Force Public Relations Officer, on Tuesday.

Disu's formal appointment comes after President Bola Tinubu's decision to appoint him, following the resignation of Kayode Egbetokun, who cited family issues in his resignation letter. Olatunji Disu, born on April 13, 1966, in Lagos State, joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.

He holds qualifications in Public Administration, Forensic Investigation, Criminology, Security Studies, Legal Psychology, and Entrepreneurship. Prior to this appointment, Disu served as the Assistant Inspector General in charge of the Special Protection Unit at the Force CID Annex in Lagos and was an aide-de-camp to Tinubu during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007.
