Tinubu Supports Acting IGP Disu in Security Restoration

On Wednesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with acting Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu at the State House, affirming his full support for Disu's role in restoring peace and security across Nigeria. Following the retirement of Kayode Egbetokun, Tinubu directed Disu to strengthen national security and rebuild public confidence in the police force.

He described Disu's appointment as timely and critical, urging him to collaborate effectively with security forces while maintaining professionalism at all levels. Tinubu acknowledged the daunting challenges posed by banditry, terrorism, and criminal activities, expressing confidence in Disu's leadership capabilities to innovate and overcome these issues.

The President also paid tribute to outgoing IGP Kayode Egbetokun, appreciating his contributions to maintaining law and order and wishing him and his family peace and success in future endeavors. The Nigeria Police Council is set to meet next week to ratify Disu's appointment.
