MOSIEND Applauds Rivers Monarchs' Peace Efforts in OML 18 Dispute

The Movement for the Survival of the Ijaw Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) commended the intervention of traditional rulers King Asari Dokubo and King Lawrence in resolving the feud over Oil Mining Lease (OML) 18 in Rivers State. MOSIEND appreciated the peace meeting convened by the monarchs, which allowed for communication with the OML 18 Board.

The group reiterated its demands for local employment opportunities for qualified youths and the awarding of contracts to credible indigenous companies. They emphasized the need for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to conduct a comprehensive investigation into OML 18 operations.
