Civil Society Backs Tantita Security for Pipeline Surveillance

A civil society group, identified as the Creek Movement, has publicly supported Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) in its role for pipeline surveillance in Nigeria. The group is advocating for the continuation of a contract awarded by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) in September 2022, which is valued at N4 billion per month and covers regions including Delta, Ondo, Imo, and parts of Bayelsa.

In a press release signed by Comrades Jefe Abido, Ajibad Smith, and Chima Samuel Obirin, the group urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to uphold the contract, describing any opposition as detrimental to the oil and gas sector. They highlighted the positive impact of Tantita's operations in reducing pipeline vandalism and pollution, which has allowed local farmers and fishermen to thrive.

The group called for national solidarity behind the President and Tantita Security Services, emphasizing the contract's role in fostering peace, security, and economic growth in the Niger Delta.
