Ndume Warns of Electoral Consequences in North; EFCC Admits $6.2M Theft Involving Emefiele

Former Senate Leader Ali Ndume from Borno South has cautioned that the dissatisfaction in the North could lead to electoral repercussions in 2027. He criticized President Buhari's inner circle for poor service and lack of grassroots connections.

Ndume also highlighted issues with President Buhari's advisors, contrasting them with the capable team around Bola Tinubu. In a separate development, the EFCC's deputy director, Bashirudeen Maishanu, admitted to the theft of $6.2 million from the Central Bank of Nigeria, implicating former CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele.

Emefiele is facing trial on multiple charges related to the misappropriation of funds. Maishanu confessed to his involvement in the fraudulent activities during the ongoing legal proceedings.
