Internal Conflicts Erupt in APC, ADC Ahead of Elections

Internal disputes are ongoing within the All Progressives Congress (APC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as they approach gubernatorial elections. The National Chairman of the NDC, Moses Zuwoghe, accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of causing crises by replacing candidate names with “unknown persons,” a claim INEC denied.

In Oyo State, tensions escalated as members of the ADC protested against Chief Adegboyega Adegoke being named the party's gubernatorial candidate, asserting he was not accepted by the party. Despite this, INEC confirmed Adegboyega as the authentic candidate.

Concurrently, the SDP faced similar issues with Chief Michael Okunlade being recognized as the official candidate, while another candidate, Saheed Oladele, contested this claim. Protests in Oyo State included members from all 33 local government areas, demanding the withdrawal of Adegoke’s name from the INEC portal pending a court decision.
