This clarification followed viral claims suggesting that Guinea had filed an appeal with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) regarding the tournament's outcome.

The FGF described these reports as inaccurate and lacking official basis, emphasizing that no steps had been taken to contest the match results. The final match between Guinea and Morocco occurred on March 14, 1976, in Addis Ababa, where Guinea initially led with a goal from Ch Rif Souleyman, but Morocco equalized through Ahm Makrouh, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
