"Black Market Film Aims for 50,000-Person Screening"

The Nollywood film "Black Market" is scheduled for a screening at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) in Lagos on September 26, 2026. This event aims to break the Guinness World Records title for the largest number of people to screen a film in a single location, targeting an audience of 50,000, which would exceed the existing record of 43,000.

The film is written by Abdul Tijani-Ahmed and Fatimah Binta Gimsay, with Gimsay also serving as the director. The cast includes notable actors such as Lateef Adedimeji, Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Itele D Icon, Scarlet Gomez, Omowunmi Dada, Teniola Aladese, Susan Pwajok, and Uzor Arukwe, among others.

The screening is organized in collaboration with Filmone Studios, Signet Ring Studios, and Switch Visuals Production, and is supported by partners including MTN, Puma, Swoop, PlaystreetNG, Oraimo, Shuttlers, and the Lagos State Ministry of Culture.
