Gunmen Abduct Six Travellers in Benue, Demand N100m Ransom

On Tuesday morning, six travellers, comprising three men and three women, were abducted by armed men in Benue while traveling in a convoy. The victims had reportedly spent Monday night in Ankpa, Kogi State, before continuing their journey to Makurdi, where they were intercepted around 5 AM.

The husband of one of the victims confirmed the incident, stating that the abductors contacted the families two hours after the attack, demanding a ransom of N100 million for their release. Victor Ormin, the chairman of Gwer West Local Government Area, confirmed the abduction and described the attack on the travelling group.
