Gunmen Abduct Six Travelers, Demand N100m Ransom

On Tuesday morning, six travelers were abducted along the Makurdi-Naka road in Benue State, with four of the victims being members of the Ansaarudeen Islam Society. The incident occurred shortly after the group departed Naka around 5 AM.

Their vehicle was intercepted by armed men near Kula village, approximately 20 minutes from Makurdi. Following the abduction, the kidnappers contacted the families of the victims, demanding a ransom of N100 million for their release.

Mr. Victor Ormin, the chairman of Gwer West Local Government Area, confirmed the incident and stated that the victims were traveling in a convoy when they were attacked.

Families of the abducted individuals have begun efforts to negotiate for their release, although raising the ransom amount is proving to be challenging. DSP Udem Edet, the police public relations officer, did not respond to inquiries regarding the incident at the time of the report.
