Gunmen Kill Three Police Officers in Kwara Attack

In the early hours of Saturday, a group of gunmen launched a surprise attack on a police base at the PMF camp in Tenebo Village, located in the Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State. The assault began around 1 AM, resulting in the deaths of three police officers and injuries to two others.

Suleiman Issa, a resident, described the situation as terrible, highlighting the panic that ensued as community members fled their homes amidst heavy gunfire. Adetoun Ejir Adeyemi, a spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, confirmed the incident and expressed regret over the attack.

This incident underscores the ongoing insecurity in the Kaiama Local Government Area, where armed groups have repeatedly targeted communities. Previous attacks include an incident on April 20, where suspected terrorists overran a security outpost in Kemanje Community, resulting in the deaths of three soldiers and two vigilantes.
