Gunmen Kill Three, Abduct 15 Worshippers in Kwara Attack

On Saturday night, gunmen attacked a prayer ground located at Ori Ok Ajaiy on the outskirts of Ikiran Village in Ekiti Local Government Area, Kwara State. The assault resulted in the deaths of three worshippers and the abduction of 15 others.

The Kwara State Police Command, through spokesperson Adetoun Ejir Adeyemi, condemned the attack, describing it as gruesome. The incident occurred during a night vigil conducted by Pastor Adebayo Abiodun and members of the congregation.

Following the attack, the police mobilized a tactical intelligence-driven rescue operation involving drone teams and personnel from various units to locate and rescue the abducted victims. The police assured residents of their commitment to restoring security in the affected community and urged the public to remain calm and support security agencies with credible information.

This incident adds to a series of recent attacks on worship centers in the region, raising concerns about safety in rural communities.
