Gunmen Disguise as NDLEA Officers in Jos Attack

On Sunday, a deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, Plateau State, resulted in the deaths of at least 28 individuals, with several others injured. Governor Caleb Mutfwang disclosed that the assailants disguised themselves as officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to gain access to the community and opened fire on residents.

Despite the severity of the incident, no arrests have been made. During a condolence visit to Plateau State, President Bola Tinubu met with bereaved families and traditional rulers.

Mutfwang explained that the attackers exploited familiar security patterns to deceive residents, leading to significant damage. He described the attack as premeditated and executed by professionals, noting the advanced weapon handling skills displayed.

The governor urged residents to remain law-abiding and warned against reprisals that could destabilize the state. He assured that security agencies are working on credible intelligence and are committed to prosecuting suspects once apprehended.
