Plateau Governor: Attackers Mimicked NDLEA Operations

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State revealed that the attackers involved in a recent deadly massacre studied the behavior of local residents. They disguised themselves to resemble operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), allowing them to strike unexpectedly and inflict significant damage while escaping.

During an interview on Channels Television's Politics Today, Mutfwang described the incident as unfortunate and worrisome, expressing confidence that such events would not recur. He noted that the community had been enjoying peace for the past ten months, making the attack particularly shocking.

The governor emphasized that security personnel were blindsided by the attackers, who took advantage of the residents' usual relaxed state on a Sunday. He highlighted that the attackers' strategy involved mimicking NDLEA raids, which typically do not meet resistance from the community, leading to substantial damage before security forces could respond.
