Security Convoy Ambushed in Plateau, Four Killed

On Tuesday, gunmen ambushed a security team in Rakok, Barkin Ladi local government area of Plateau State, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, including a member of Operation Rainbow. Dalyop Mwantiri, president of the Berom Youth Moulders Association, was traveling with the convoy and confirmed the attack via social media, attributing his escape to divine intervention.

A local resident, Lawrence Gyang, reported that three civilians, including a man and two women, were killed while en route to a funeral for two victims of a previous attack. The ambush occurred around 4 p.m., according to an anonymous operative from Operation Rainbow.

Mwantiri expressed concern over the increasing frequency of attacks, noting that they are now occurring in broad daylight rather than just at night. He called on security agencies to enhance their efforts to protect residents and restore peace in the affected areas.
