Gunmen Kill Two in Plateau State Community Attacks

On Tuesday night, gunmen attacked Berom communities in Plateau State, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to another. The incidents were reported in Gwa-Wereng Rim, Kyeng Village in Bachi District, Dorong, and Jol Village.

The Berom Youth Moulders-Association confirmed the fatalities, identifying the deceased as Bulus Mwagwong, also known as Dikko, and 47-year-old Stephen Dachollom Kaze. Mwagwong was killed in Gwa-Wereng Rim, while Kaze was attacked in Kyeng Village around 8:30 p.m.

A local resident reported that the Gwa-Wereng Rim attack occurred around 9:30 p.m. The BYM noted that the attackers set houses ablaze in Dorong and engaged local vigilantes in gunfire at Jol Village.

The association's National President, Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, condemned the attacks and called for enhanced security measures. They urged authorities to assist affected families and ensure justice for the victims.

The Plateau State Police Command's spokesperson was unavailable for comment.
