Gunmen Kill Policeman Attached To LG Chairman In Delta

A police officer, Inspector Ojonogba attached to the Chairman of Bomadi local government council in Delta State, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen. The incident occurred while the officer was on duty at the chairman's residence in Ughelli North local government area.

The assailant entered the compound, shot the officer in the neck while he was sleeping, and proceeded to ransack the house. The gunmen demanded money and jewelry from the chairman's child before fleeing the scene.

The Chairman's Special Assistant on Security confirmed the attack, while the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer stated that the police are actively pursuing the criminals. The incident has left residents in shock and raised concerns about security in the area.
