Gwarzo and Gawuna to Defect from ADC to NDC

Shuaibu Gwarzo, the immediate past deputy governor of Kano State, and Abdullahi Gawuna, a prominent politician, are preparing to leave the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). This decision is part of a broader political realignment involving key figures such as former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi.

A viral video showed Kwankwaso receiving his NDC membership card, with Obi present during the registration process. Sources indicate that Gwarzo and Gawuna held a closed-door meeting with NDC leaders in Abuja to finalize their plans.

Gwarzo's decision is reportedly influenced by the need to reposition politically ahead of the 2027 elections. A spokesperson for Gwarzo confirmed that both politicians will soon make a formal announcement regarding their defection.
