NACHON Updates Intending Pilgrims on Hajj 2026 Status

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NACHON), through its Deputy Director Fatima Sanda Usara, has informed intending pilgrims who made late payments for Hajj 2026 to remain patient as updates will be communicated. This announcement follows the closure of Saudi Arabia's Hajj portal and a significant reduction in Nigeria's Hajj quota from 95,000 to 50,000 slots.

NACHON convened a meeting with state officials to formally cancel earlier allocations and adopt a first-come, first-served policy based on confirmed remittances. The deadline for remittances was set for January 2, but some states, including Kaduna and Niger, received limited additional allocations.

Usara emphasized the importance of timely registration, noting that Saudi authorities strictly enforce deadlines. Although NACHON sought additional slots, the portal's closure has complicated matters.

Pilgrims who paid late are assured that updates will be provided as necessary.
