Kwara Schedules Hajj Pilgrims' Departure for May 2023

The Kwara Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board has announced that intending pilgrims will depart for Hajj between May 6 and May 8, 2023. Alhaji Abdulkadri Abdulsalam, the Executive Secretary of the board, made this announcement during an enlightenment program in Ilorin.

The departure will occur over three days, with flights scheduled for May 6, 7, and 8. Abdulsalam highlighted the board's responsibility not only to collect Hajj fares but also to properly educate pilgrims on performing the pilgrimage.

He noted that it is unfair to collect N7.7 million from pilgrims without adequately teaching them the necessary rites. The training will cover essential practices such as ihram and tawaf.

Vaccination for pilgrims is set to commence on April 27, with travel bags prepared for distribution. Abdulsalam urged pilgrims to exercise patience throughout their journey, emphasizing that Hajj is not a luxury but requires endurance and good faith.
