Nigeria U20 Handball Team Defeats Madagascar 50-17

On Tuesday, Nigeria’s Under-20 men’s handball team achieved a decisive victory over Madagascar, winning 50-17 in the group stage of the 33rd Africa Men’s Junior Handball Championship held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. This victory allowed Nigeria to secure the top position in Group C, marking their second win of the championship.

The team dominated the match from the start, scoring 21 goals in the first half while limiting Madagascar to just eight. In the second half, Nigeria maintained their intensity, scoring an additional 29 goals compared to Madagascar's nine.

Overall, Nigeria scored 98 goals and conceded 64 during the group stage, finishing with a goal difference of plus 34. This performance was crucial in determining the final standings, as Nigeria, Angola, and Algeria all ended with four points.

However, Nigeria's superior goal difference allowed them to finish first, ahead of Angola and Algeria. They will now face Rwanda in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.
