CRPP Demands Edo Governor Okpebholo's Resignation Amid Hardship

The Coalition for the Restoration of Peace and Progress (CRPP) has publicly demanded the resignation of Edo State Governor Okpebholo, citing an unprecedented increase in hardship among the state's citizens. Dr. Samson Isibor, the national chairman of CRPP, issued a statement in response to a peaceful protest held in Benin City, where hundreds of youths expressed their frustrations over various issues, including the hike in petrol prices, erratic power supply, poor road conditions, and the high cost of food.

The CRPP emphasized the urgent need for government intervention to address these pressing concerns. Isibor lamented the dire living conditions in Edo State, highlighting the alarming rates of unemployment, insecurity, and inadequate infrastructure.

He criticized Governor Okpebholo for his perceived inaction and lack of visible efforts to alleviate the suffering of the populace, suggesting that the governor is more focused on the upcoming 2027 presidential election rather than addressing the immediate needs of Edo citizens.
