Harry Maguire Extends Manchester United Contract to 2027

Harry Maguire has signed a new contract with Manchester United that will keep him at the club until 2027, with an option for a further 12 months. The new deal comes as his previous contract was set to expire at the end of the season.

Maguire, who joined Manchester United from Leicester City in 2019 for a world record fee of £80 million, has made 266 appearances for the club, contributing to their League Cup victory in the 2022-23 season and the FA Cup the following year. His future had appeared uncertain following a loss of captaincy under manager Erik Ten Hag and a failed transfer to West Ham in August 2023.

With the arrival of interim boss Michael Carrick, Maguire is expected to start 10 matches by mid-January 2026. Jason Wilcox, the director of football, praised Maguire's influence at the club.
