Harry Maguire Signs New Contract with Manchester United

Harry Maguire, the former captain of Manchester United, has signed a new one-year contract with the club, which includes an option to extend for an additional year. The 33-year-old central defender's current contract was due to expire at the end of the season, and it is understood that he has taken a pay cut to remain at Old Trafford.

Maguire joined Manchester United from Leicester City in 2019 for a world-record transfer fee of £80 million. He has made 266 appearances for the club, contributing to their League Cup victory in the 2022-23 season and the FA Cup in the following season.

Despite facing challenges during his tenure, including being stripped of the captaincy by manager Erik Ten Hag in July 2023, Maguire expressed his delight in extending his journey with the club, emphasizing his ambition to fight for major trophies and contribute to the team's success.
