Harvestfield FTZ Secures NEPZA License for Local Production

Harvestfield Free Trade Zone (FTZ) has been granted a license by the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) to operate, with a focus on boosting local production of medical products. This initiative, announced in Abuja, aims to significantly reduce Nigeria's dependence on imported healthcare supplies.

Dr. Olufemi Ogunyemi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NEPZA, emphasized that this development will curb imports of medical products.

The license was presented during a declaration event, with Dr. Martin Odeh, Managing Director, explaining the advantages for investors in the health sector within the free zone.

The Harvestfield FTZ is strategically positioned to address key deficits in the health sector and create new export opportunities. Dr.

Abdu Mukthar, representing the Presidential Initiative, noted that the FTZ aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's executive order to promote local manufacturing of healthcare products. The partnership with Danish conglomerate Vestergaard aims to produce 10 million insecticide-treated nets annually, creating approximately 600 jobs in Ogun State, with production expected to commence in April 2026.
