NEPZA Grants License for Ajaokuta Free Trade Zone

In a significant development, the Nigerian Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) issued a license for the Ajaokuta Free Trade Zone, presented by Managing Director Dr. Olufemi Ogunyemi to Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahm Usman Ododo in Abuja.

The governor emphasized that this license will enable the administration to unlock Kogi State's vast mineral potential, fulfilling a campaign promise to improve the lives of its people. The Ajaokuta Free Trade Zone covers an area of 4,000 hectares and is designed to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and local direct investment (LDI).

Governor Ododo expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for granting the approval and stated that the establishment of the zone would significantly contribute to the state's economic development. Ogunyemi highlighted the global significance of the free trade zone and assured continued support from NEPZA to ensure its successful operation, which is expected to create numerous economic benefits for the state and the nation.
