Tinubu's Administration Defended Amidst Criticism

On Saturday, Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, responded to criticism regarding Nigeria's progress under Tinubu's administration. He stated that only "power mongers and those blinded by hate" would fail to recognize the advancements made.

This response came after an X user, @finplanKaluAja1, claimed that nothing had changed in Nigeria, citing increased revenues, expenses, and debt. Onanuga countered by listing several achievements, including the absence of disruptions in universities by ASUU for three years, state governors' ability to pay workers, and the provision of loans for university students.

He also mentioned ongoing infrastructure projects, such as the construction of two superhighways, and noted that Nigeria's economy has been recording trade surpluses with the Central Bank of Nigeria's forex reserves reaching a record $54 billion. Onanuga concluded by stating that deficit financing is not inherently negative, comparing Nigeria's situation to that of the USA.
