HBM Nigeria Plc Reports 32.4% Profit Increase in 2026

HBM Nigeria Plc recorded a pre-tax profit of N414.43 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, marking a 32.4% increase from N313.29 billion in the same period of 2025. This growth was attributed to lower finance costs and improved operating margins.
The company's revenue rose by 18.9% to N928.25 billion, up from N780.49 billion, while profit after tax increased by 30.9% to N271.99 billion from N207.78 billion. Earnings per share rose to N16.89 from N12.90.
Operating profit grew by 28.2% to N382.68 billion, and net finance income more than doubled to N31.75 billion. Selling and distribution expenses declined by 5.9%, but administrative expenses increased by 41.4%.
HBM's pre-tax margin improved to approximately 44.6%. However, the third-quarter results showed a decline in pre-tax profit by 14.8% compared to the previous year.
The company attributed this to planned maintenance at existing plants. HBM's cash flow reflected higher capital expenditure and dividend payments, with operating cash flow increasing to N272.31 billion.
