SDP in Crisis: 37 State Chairmen Support Expulsion Over N1bn Fraud

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) is embroiled in a major crisis as 37 state chairmen back the expulsion of former national chairman Alhaji Shehu Gabam for financial misconduct amounting to almost N1 billion. The chairmen accused Gabam of mismanaging and diverting party funds, leading to a call for investigation by the EFCC and the police.

The expulsion was confirmed by the party's disciplinary committee, chaired by Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Sadiq Liman. SDP aims to restore integrity by taking legal action against Gabam to recover embezzled funds.
