Helen Paul Reveals She Voiced P-Square's 'Story' Intro

Helen Paul, a comedian, actress, and media personality, disclosed that she provided the voice for the famous child's intro in P-Square's classic song "Story" without receiving payment. In an interview, she explained that she recorded not only the iconic line "Uncle please tell us a story" but also various responses throughout the song by altering her voice to sound like different children.

At the time of the recording, she was a receptionist at a recording studio earning a monthly salary of ₦9,500. P-Square had initially sought actual children for the voice parts, but when that did not materialize, someone suggested Helen, who was known for her ability to imitate children's voices.

Despite being informed that there was not much money involved, she accepted the opportunity, excited to be part of the studio work. Helen Paul reflected on her experience, noting that she never anticipated P-Square would rise to become one of Africa's most prominent music groups.
