Hansi Flick, the current coach of Barcelona, commended striker Hamza Abdelkarim following his notable performance in a pre-season friendly against Birmingham on Friday. In the match held at St. Andrew’s, Abdelkarim scored two goals, contributing significantly to the team's efforts.

However, Barcelona lost the match 3-2 on penalties after finishing with a 2-2 draw in regulation time. In his post-match interview, Flick described Abdelkarim as a very humble player with a good character, emphasizing his potential and dedication.

Flick stated, “Hamza is very humble and has a good character. He always tries to give his best and has great potential.” He further noted the importance of a striker's presence in critical moments, saying, “As a striker, you have to show up in those situations inside the box, and today he was there.

That is what I ask of a number nine.”.
