Kogi Islamic Leaders Urge Moral Renewal and Vigilance

During the Hijrah 1448 AH celebration held at Muhammadu Buhari Square in Lokoja, Kogi Islamic leaders, including Sheikh Salman Adam, the Chairman of the Kogi State Council of Ulama, emphasized the need for moral transformation and vigilance against insecurity. Sheikh Adam described the Hijrah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a timeless lesson for personal and societal transformation.

He urged Muslims to use the new Islamic year as an opportunity for self-reflection and spiritual renewal, advocating for the replacement of bad behavior with good character. The cleric expressed concern over the nation's security challenges and called on citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies to tackle insecurity, report suspicious activities, and avoid spreading rumors that could create division.

He acknowledged the efforts of the Kogi State government, commending Governor Ahmadu Usman Ododo for supporting religious organizations in maintaining peace and security in the state. The event attracted Islamic scholars, religious leaders, and government officials, marking the beginning of the new Islamic calendar year.
