Akpabio Commits National Assembly to FCT Development

On July 18, 2026, Dr. Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, reaffirmed the National Assembly's commitment to supporting the development, transformation, and upgrading of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This pledge was made during the commissioning of a 31-day marathon project in Abuja, which was attended by notable figures, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. Dr.

Akpabio highlighted the significance of the projects being commissioned, which included critical infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and public utilities. He emphasized that the legislative body would continue to pass necessary appropriations to ensure these projects are realized, stating that the budget would translate into tangible improvements in the lives of residents.

The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, also spoke on the importance of these initiatives in further developing and transforming the Federal Capital Territory, bringing it into the global limelight.
