Hollywood Icon Robert Redford Dies at 89: Remembering a Legend

Hollywood legend Robert Redford, known for iconic roles in films like "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" and "The Sting," has passed away at the age of 89 at his home in Utah. Redford, a celebrated actor and director, received numerous accolades throughout his six-decade-long career, including an Academy Award for directing "Ordinary People." Beyond his Hollywood success, Redford was a pioneer in the independent film movement, founding the Sundance Institute in 1981.

He was also a staunch advocate for environmental causes. Redford's final screen appearance was in 2018's "The Old Man & the Gun." He is survived by his wife, artist Sibylle Szaggars, and four children.
