ADC Urges Tinubu to Replace NSA Ribadu Over Confidence Issues

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), represented by Bolaji Abdullahi, has called on President Bola Tinubu to consider replacing National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu if there is any doubt regarding his capability to tackle Nigeria's security challenges. This statement comes in response to Tinubu's recent appointment of Major General Adeyinka Fadewa (rtd) as a special adviser on homeland security.

Abdullahi emphasized that the appointment of Fadewa recognizes his exceptional service and strategic expertise in national security matters. He criticized the notion of maintaining a portfolio that lacks relevance, comparing it to the security frameworks of the United States, Germany, and Israel, which he believes do not apply meaningfully to Nigeria.

Abdullahi stated that if confidence in Ribadu is lacking, simply replacing him without creating a new office would be a more effective approach.
